That Honcho looks great!

Installed new shock towers with keys on the TRX4. Between that and the new battery tray it was a nice improvement today, made it over some rocks it coudnt handle last time out.

The Ecto also got some upgrades and is more capable overall than the Trx4, especially approach angle and side tilt. New beadlocks/wheel weights added around 450g. Also installed a new Hobbywing Fusion 1800kv brushless motor/esc. Put the receiver in a waterproof box where the stock esc was.

Something a little different....

Some of you may have already seen my build thread, but long story short I had a bunch of spare parts from my Kraton and built up a trail vehicle/crawler! I call it the "Kraton Krawler" because alliteration is fun, and it can outrun the crawler police. :ROFLMAO:

Sure, not a true solid axle crawler, but it does surprisingly well!

What it's running:
  • Castle 1717 1260 kv geared 11/50t 6S lipo
  • Mamba Monster X 8S tuned for crawling
  • Dual NSDRC RS800 V2 direct power servos
  • Aluminum upper arms (steering torque otherwise twists the stock plastics into a pretzel)
  • RC4WD peepee Cepek bead locks and Mickey Thompson MTZ tires
  • "Locked" (more or less) diffs all around with silicone earplugs
  • Mojave rear shocks all around with some custom repositioning to get maximum clearance/articulation, still tuning this
Its been able to handle just about everything I've thrown at it- snow, dunes, mud, wet wood/forest trails, rocks, and more. My ultimate camping companion. :)
Can crawl along pretty slow with the sensored setup, but still tops out at about 35 mph for some light/medium bashing. I'm astounded by how well it does considering what it is!

My C2 comp rig got some upgrades for this years comps. Went with an ultra light set up coming in at only 2134g / 4.70lb. This is running weight with a winch. Only got 30 mins of testing with it yesterday
2100 with a winch is tricky for sure.

Hit the rock racing track for a few laps this morning with our Element Gatekeeper. Rains have turned sections of the track green!
