Going back about a month ago I bought my youngest son a kraton 6s v5 .he will be home soon from college for the summer and he said he wanted to do some bashing .well it didn't really like the blue cover that came with it and he said he wanted a cover that matched my 1/1 truck .I own a 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 sport .so I found a cover by proline and I asked him what color and he said ,make it look just like your real truck.so here it is.
I used Tamiya PS1 white and for backing and windows I used Tamiya PS1 5
After doing a lot of research on white paint for body's,many didn't like how the white looked after they painted there covers .but I'm very happy how the white matches my 1/1 and the coverage is perfect..no see through and no blotches.one small can did three coats .the black only took two coats as the first being very thin .second coat I went heavy and came out perfect .I really was skeptical on using black as a backer but it was the right thing to do it made the white more realistic.and it didn't really darken the white at all if any not by much .if I had used a silver backing or no backing the white would have not matched the white that's on my 1/1 Ram .so overall I'm happy and my son loves it I was hoping this would turn out to be a father and son project but nope I ended up doing it all by myself.he said I just wanna play with it lol .kids will be kids
