Yes 40mm fit fine.i can fit mmx8s an tp4060 40×92 in lwb...you could probly fit bigger on xlwb.tp4040,tp4050,tp4060 all cost 160$..if ya plan on running5s an under I'd either get the 4050cm 3800kv or tp4060cm-3480kv. I are animals on 2,3,4,5s..haven't tried 6s yet on either one...but both are good for 22ish volts 80000rpms.id pick the 3800kv..it's my favorite 1/10 motor so far.....uncontrollable on 5s..here's one here ready to go..not sure how well mm2 would handle 3800kv.ya plan on running mm2??That storm just hovered around all day today and never landed, drove me crazy too!
My god those TP motors look massive in that mount. I was looking at a 4040CM, you think it'd have any issues fitting? (3S BLX Typhon mount)

What esc ya gonna be using with new motor????tp3650 is a powerhouse of a 36mm motor also....they make 2350w con an 4500w max...the 4050s make 2350w con an 5000w max.3650 is much lighter. I've got the 3650-3080kv..I love um,great motors...I always go for the 2y an 3y motors..iused to run the 3080kv with mm2....they only cost 110$ also...had it in notorious running 116mph on 5s couple weeks ago....reg tp4050-3080kv 2y is one I've always wanted to tryI was thinking 3200kv on 6s. Good to hear the can fits! I am a little concerned about the smallest gear that’ll fit but I think I can go 18/53 (100mph at 72k rpm at 3.8v in theory) and not have the can hit the driveshaft.
Don't really have worry about overvolting them speedrunning....you'll never get them close to overvolting them...ALOT of tppowerusa info is wrong on there site.theyll call a motor that can 6s a 5s motor....this is 1 of my favorite motors,it's a 3480kv with a 78000rpm max.so technically it would have to go over 22.4volts to reach 78000rpm max.....you'll never hold over 19v on a 6s speedrun.ive run this motor on 5s an didn't come close to max rpm....here's 130mph log from 5s hit this morning..if ya can hold 16v during a 5s pass(21v) that's great...on 140ish 6s run would never get motor close to 20v,unless ya where geared for bashing or something.I think a 4040CM is under 200A, a 4050CM may be too (not crazy overvolting them) right from TP Powers specs. (So my MM2 should work for now).
Eventually i'll have to go big... haha!
Mm2 is a little bitty badazz.....tiny esc that'll run 100mph on 4s no problems, not many 6s escz will run 100mph on 6s ive got a mmx6s that don't have near the power of my old mm2..I like to do alot of switching things up an comparisons.in this thread I did a comparison between mm2,mmx6s, an xlx....same gearing, car, even all in the same day....ran best # with mm2.it ran 2mph faster than xlx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!castle says it's a 120a esc..I've pulled 220a with mmx6s an 400a with xlx an mm2 still outperformed them...crazyI think a 4040CM is under 200A, a 4050CM may be too (not crazy overvolting them) right from TP Powers specs. (So my MM2 should work for now).
Eventually i'll have to go big... haha!
Didn't plan on having to try an customize this body so much to work, not sure where I'm working next few days, don't usely find out till in mornings. If your cap cuts ripple in half I should see 1-5 mph gains.not sure how this will end up looking..lol ...probly get crashed 1st outing anyway...dude I cannot wait to see this! contemplating a vendetta just to build a deltaplastic body!
She's ready for a test hit......

Still got some work to do to car,I've got foam behind it an 3 screws throu it..sturdy-Gurdy right now, till it gets ran off the road an speed. I think it's good enough for a test hit, find out soon as I get off workMay want to re-enforce that front air dam somewhat.. So that lip won't get tucked under the shell at high speeds...
