Those look like compeletly dried. Have they been in the sun or heat for a long time?

Yep dry rot. I've seen that with brand new, still in bag tyres. Been on the shelf too long.

They have never been hit by the sun or heat, except of course when I used them in the car. Indeed the buggy wheel on the left, only it was glued and stored in the basement.

Looks like dry rot, usually from sunlight exposure. Odd if they weren't left in the sun though. I have a bin full of tires/wheels from the nineties, while it's been a bit since I was last in there. I have some Proline stadium truck wheels/tires from then that are still kickass to this day!!

Ozone ROT .... not all rubber/s are subject to this .... case in point tho your rubber tires obviously are
I've got a few sets of 25+ year old KOYSHO MP6 tires stored in a box, open air that look like new to this day ... odd no doubt.

I also have some tires from Kyosho's Rage VE with "cracked" tire tread!
No problem with Savage/MT4-G3/Inferno neo 2.0 tires...
