Perfect timing..

With the speed of these androids are Self-Advancing ,we will be able to send a bunch of them to Mars to build factories or to far off asteroids to mine precious metals for us!

Good times!

What could possibly go wrong...

It's pretty amazing stuff. Sorting colors and object recognition is old news, but the articulation and humanoid motions are not easy to get right. When I was a kid this was all Sci-Fi and now I can imagine seeing this guy as my waiter in a few years.

But don't worry nothing can go wrong because of Functional Safety requirements. Functional Safety standards are generally applied to machines to ensure they have fail safes and people are not hurt if it all goes wrong. There are different specs for factory robots, cars, planes, etc.

But if this is a one off project there are now rules... and it could mean world domination by our electronic overlords. 😨

Can he pass a Field Sobriety Test after hitting the 40W all night?

A robot like this, a physical presence capable of human-like tasks, should be the least of your worry. These are all the things we can imagine. Currently it has arms and legs because biological evolution (or gods design) has proven it to be usefull.
What worries me is all the things AGI will come up with which we can't imagine ourselves. Things that will be created with none or limited human input.

A.i. + Quantum Computer = Skynet

The only thing that's missing for its Global Domination is to tap "it" into the World Wide Web and give it access to military launch systems...
Hey hold on a second there..

Certainly true that quantum computing is gonna excelleratie AI (current crappy language models) to AGI.
Current chatbot 'AI' is again, only focussed on making us humans understand their hocus pocus with just language and still limited in computing power.
Latest what i heard is that chatbot power consumption is already close to what porn consumes globally. Quantum computing can do much more with less power and even more freaky, everything at once...

Who need militairy systems for global domination? Again just a human concepts ;) It's gonna be a black swan paradise

No doubt!

I'm currently dabbling with graphical a.i. and it's freaky with what it can generate...
I can't imagine what it can do with a little more power and training. The videos it can produce at film quality will be extreme in another year or so.

Life-like full on VR in IMAX format & 12K res. will be child's play, Very soon.

Back on topic-

When (Not if) we -Tesla or Boston Dynamics or whomever- perfect the humanoid bot, then Un-manned Drones/Hypersonic planes will be a no brainier , literally.
There won't be a need or worry about what physical limits on the types of crafts that "we" can design and fly around...

Perhaps those UAPs that we're witnessing now are just advanced prototypes from these kinds of programs?
Maybe..

Just a thought.

I worked in a semi-conductor factory that was fully automated/robotic.
The amount of man-hours needed to keep it all running is wild. I have no concerns at this time...
Yup, these are about as smart as insects. People think that AI can just learn stuff like a baby, but it takes a lot of time and effort to train them. It's still a pretty manual process.

When it gets to the point of you tell it to learn about butterflies and it can recognize any butterfly in the world and write a dissertation about, then we should be worried. Self learning is pretty scary.

These robots would be "taught" their movements. They were handling fragile silicon wafers (300mm size).
The stepper motors would get off somehow or other issues and these wafers would get shattered. It was a non-stop need to do maintenance and fix issues.

What this means to me is instead of low-end jobs these become higher-paying jobs to maintain million-dollar machines.

I really like this bot:

I assume it's just programmed and not intelligenty knowing what it's actually doing and actively improving juist yet.

Current jobs will be replaced by new for sure. Humans are certainly not obsolete yet.
