What does a BEC do???

hello everyone I been eyeing this castle motor combo for a future project I want to do. Many people here have done it so I want to have an overkill typhon grom. I want to add the MAMBA MICRO X2 to that setup but since there’s a shortage for the BEC can I still run it with out it? Or is it recommended to have it while I run the car? Btw I still don’t know what the BEC does what’s so ever. TIA

Most of the the mamba micro x2 combos have the bec back inside them now. It was just the 10 series combos that were lagging behind. However if you do acquire one without it inside you can send it to castle and they will swap it out for one with a bec.
