Notorious Notorious noises

Hi all,

I was driving my Notorious, had a few crashes, but it survived.
I noticed when running it was making an very unusual noise, like a gear slipping noise. I took the motor out and noticed something that looks odd, there's an end of a bolt that doesn't look right, that bolt end was almost touching the big gear which drive the 4wd.
Any thoughts?

Looks like your grub screw for your pinion, check that the pinion seems to be held on by the e clip

Never seen that before haha. Usually the grub screw ejects itself never to be found again.

it might be held on by leaky center diff oil or maybe got hot and melted idk

That's crazy

You can see the curve carved in it from the pinion. Must have come loose jammed on the mount then rub against the pinion until it got so hot it fused to the aluminum.
