Hi All.
I have a max6 combo with 200A esc. New G2 model. Is this possible to fit into my Thypon 6s with moving parts around or will I need to rebuild the car into a new chassis. Anyone do e this that can share some tips.
Currently it’s a v4 6s stock electronics, running 46t spur and 30 pinion and I’m reaching 146km /91 MPH. I’m wanting to turn it into a speed run car.
Looking at getting 125MPH
Appreciate it.
Peter

Welcome to the forum. A Max6 4990 combo will fit in the Typhon 6S without any mods.

125mph may be doable. I’d guess yes under the right conditions. The ESC will be the limiting factor, as Hobbywing programs them to limit current under prolonged, heavy load. That is why every serious speed runner uses a Castle ESC.

due to the minimal space left after fitting the motor and amount it hangs over the chassis would you be comfortable sending it?

good to know. not much info out there on folks running the new max6 g2 combo in the typhon but I plan to do that in mine, so thank you for the input
Search for 4985 and you’ll find plenty of examples. It’s the same motor as the 4990 but without the sensor board.

yeah, it was mostly the extra length of the 4990 due to the sensor that had me concerned, not so much reports of power etc

Would it remain an open wheel Typhon body?

The hardest part usually is fitting LiPos under that body.

The V1 Limitless spool drops in and would be my recommendation on what to do. (use an aftermarket one like scorched UK or RamJam)
I took an all original BLX 6s electronics Typhon 6s to 96 mph just changing to a limitless spool. I'd assume the Max 6 should get up there.
I have seen a Max6 g2 hit 129 mph in a Limitless so the Typhon should be able to get there too.

Some inspiration for your build. This one had a leopard 5692 motor.
