Wanted to put a titanium skidplate on my Typhon but the only one I could find was from Scorched UK. Although it looks lovely, I didn't want to spend $50 with shipping from UK to throw some sparks. Here's my basic version for $17.
Start with a sheet of Amazon 100mm x 100mm x 4mm Ti. You may be able to find one cheaper...
Cut it down to width with an angle grinder:
Drill out some holes using the chassis as a template, I added an extra one that I drilled in the center so that the diff screws weren't taking all the force if it catches on a curb.
Countersink the holes with a 5/16 bit:
Attach, and boom! Ready to drag across curbs and throw sparks. Although it's hard to tell from this angle, the arms easily clear the Ti.
Have fun out there.
