Arrma RC's
  1. Granite
Managed to find a set of these, not exactly the cheapest thing in the world but have read and heard they will fit the Granite. Now i only have to decide whether they go on my granite of fury when it arrives

Will let you know how it goes.

I am sitting down now to build them, little bit of work ahead of me. Gotta get some shock oil.

I purchased them on ebay of some dude. Brand new in the packet so i couldnt complain!

So luckily i found some 20 weight shock oil laying around so i was able to finish building and installing the new shocks.

Overall the quality of these shocks are definitely high and most certainly an improvement over the stockers.

All metal body, caps and thread cap mean durability i hope!

It looked like i was gonna have big issues as the front shocks were a little shorter than the stock shocks (see picture) but ince installed the chassis still hits the ground before the shocks hit maximum travel so i am satisfied enough to call these a direct fit, no modifications necessary.

Ill give it a hard time time tomorrow and see how it feels!!

By the way how do i know what year truck i have? I think its a 14 model? Has full metal drivetrain except dor the spur.

Cheers! Happy bashing!

Hi

As far as I know there are two ways to tell the year. Way number one is that the earlier models had a two piece chassis, that had a front and rear section. Way number two involves taking the tranny apart and then taking the diff gear apart to see how thin the walls of the diff gear are where the cross pin is sitting, If it is thin then it is the older style. I think there might be one other way and that is the color of the body, you have the red body and if I am not mistaken that color only came with the 2013 models. 2013 I believe is when Arrma did all the updating to there 1/10th scale RC's.

On a side note you may want to get some thicker oil for your shocks, 20wt is pretty thin, I would say go with 40wt or 45wt.

Thanks for the info mate, new to the Arrma scene but like what they are all about. just seems that the newer BLX models arent as well equipped as some of the older models.

I ended up checking the manual that came with the truck and its copy writed 2013 so have to assume is a 2013 truck. i pulled the diff apart and its all metal inside and out and looks bulky though i haven't compared to my friends 2016 model yet.

I think i'll take your advice on the shock oil situation and bump those numbers up some. about to start launching this puppy!
