Arrma RC's
I broke a front shock shaft on my "truggified" Typhon yesterday. The whole shock basically exploded. Internals were in pieces. The piston broke half in two. The lower shock cap was mangled. That poor shock was a mess.

I had just put the Tekno full option shocks on my Kraton after a similar incident. I am mesmerized by their buttery smoothness and tank like build quality. I could not resist, I ordered the full option shocks for my "kraphon" too.

I must have lost my mind.......

I'm weak

:)

Pictures of "Kraphon" with Tekno full option shocks. Enjoy! .......I sure am...... :)

These are 100% bolt on in the back (122mm) and 95% bolt on in the front (107mm). You will need to take a hobby knife and trim a very small amount of the A-arm to make the beefy tekno rod end fit on the front (see red arrow). It's super easy and takes about 1 minute to do. Don't forget to get a 4mm drill bit to drill out your shock tower holes.

It's an awesome upgrade. See the following post for how I feel about these shocks. In short, it transforms your buggy or truck. They are worth every penny.

Man those look great!

@Bigfella - would you mind listing what you've done to your Typhon?

I showed yours to a friend with a stock Typhon and he's convinced that he wants his to look like yours (big complement).

Thanks!

Sure I'll try to remember all I've done. This Kraphon is not as heavily modified as my kraton so maybe I can remember everything lol.

Did u really loose your mind after breaking a shock rod end ?
Yes. I must have lost my mind for paying $180 for a set of Tekno full option shocks. It turns out I did not lose my mind though.......they are worth every penny. I have not had any breakage at all since installing the new shocks. They are simply amazing.

They look awesome bigs but I think I'll stick to playing around with the arrma ones for now. Quite cheep to fix. Cheers !!!

Got mine finished last weekend and have them set to my liking. Damn thing is like a new machine. I just got the standard kit for now, and I might eventually upgrade the guides and shafts...Thanks for posting this @Bigfella.

Well I think I'll save the LF spring setup for racing, not bashing and return to the green springs for now...
I like the orange in front with 60wt and have the greens in back with 70wt seems to get very good travel on bumps and takes a lot to bottom out on jumps...also does not flip over at high speed turns nearly as often, I almost have to try to flip it or just hit the edge b/t gravel and grass

Looks great Voltron. It is amazing how much of an improvement these shocks make to nearly every aspect of how the Typhon handles. It is indeed like a different car. Like I said before, I've not had a single breakage since installing the Tekno shocks.......and I'm not nice to my cars when driving them. Lol

BTW the standard tekno shocks are just fine. I see you have aluminum shock caps and the aluminum shock spring collars. The shock spring collars are really nice. They are so smooth and easy to operate. I'll be upgrading to the aluminum collars on my MT410 which comes with the plastic ones. Other than that ill be keeping the stock tekno shocks on it as they are great.

Thanks Bigfella...and I'm often not a "car-friendly" basher...

Whats the difference between standard and full option??
I was looking at some mt410 shocks on ebay... About 100 aud for the set of 4 which i thought was pretty good
