Arrma RC's
  1. Granite
I ordered a spare set of shocks for the kraton thinking they were just the old ones with the 3.5mm shaft. Much to my surprise they have the new ones with the 4mm shaft. $31 shipped to my door. Just wanted to let people know that JRC has the new shocks with the 4mm shaft!

Well I pulled off the old shocks and compared them to the ones JRC sent and they are about 4mm shorter. I emailed them so we’ll see what happens. I think they may have sent me the ones for the new talion but not sure.

New Talion shocks are 16x51mm front 16x63mm rear, the Outcast has 16x54mm front and 16x61mm rear.

They sent me the wrong ones. Ive received the replacement ones but they’re the v2 shocks. Oh well I got what I originally ordered.

Still not sure what they sent me but it had the 4mm shock shaft. I’m not really sure what they did but the kinda made it right lol. Got my hopes up for better then got let down...kinda lol.

Those are Typhon rear shocks.

She is saying they are the same shock as the Kraton front shock, but with different / softer springs vs what the Kraton comes with.

The part # she shows (AR106028) is for the 2018 /blue Typhon, so they should be the 4mm shafts.

Note - I believe the Typhon shocks come with the Nero composite caps and threaded collars. The Kraton shocks come with an alloy caps and collars.

Edit - fixed the first line...

They all come with plastic shock caps now.

Those are the 2018 rear Typhon shocks, they are the same measurements as the fronts for the Kraton and Outcast. 120mm is the length of the fronts for the Kraton and Outcast, I forget the length of the rear but I want to say 176mm.
The biggest giveaway that they are the 2018 version is the part numbers for the Team Durango springs and shock boots, the 2017 models have Arrma springs and boots.

I believe that the Kraton, Outcast and Talion have aluminum caps (AR330491) and the Senton and Typhon have plastic caps (AR330337).

Yup, I was wrong, I was looking it up one day and I swore it listed plastic shock caps, spring retainers and lower cartridge caps for the Outcast and Kraton in the exploded parts diagram. Maybe I was looking at the diagram from the Typhon or Senton.

-Edit- I think I got the old and the new one mixed up or something somewhere down the line, old shocks show TD shock springs and Arrma shock boots, new ones show Arrma shock springs but TD shock boots.

It's all good. It still boggles my mind why they "improved" the Senton and Typhon shocks with plastic caps with bleeders. I am currently looking at upgrading my Typhon shocks since I've bent 5 shafts. I'm just trying to decide if I should go Tekno or V3 Typhon shocks with Kraton caps....decisions, decisions. That's why I thought (and was hoping) my research was correct and that the larger vehicles had metal caps.
