Yup, old braces had the nut recessed into the plastic, new brace is solid plastic for the screw, no more but, that’s where they always broke
Yeah we all already knew that. Vas already broke one on his V3 Talion.

Note - I purchased a GPM aluminum brace to replace the stocker plastic version on my V3 Kraton. Not sure if it’s the GPM brace or there is a difference in screw hole location on the chassis plate, but hole in the chassis DOES NOT line up with the hole in the brace, it’s off by about 1-2 MM... If I install the brace to the chassis plate first, then force the screw through the diff mount, the length difference causes the chassis to bow considerably. Definitely not right...

Curious if anyone that has V2 aluminum braces and moves them over to the V3 experiences the same results. Not sure if this was an Arrma design change or a problem with the GPM brace...

Line the GPM and Arrma braces next to each other and see if they are the same. If you have a digital calipers measure them. I'm willing to bet that the GPM chassis brace is wrong. Did you break the stock one? Worst case scenario you bent the chassis.

We know they are not the same otherwise they’d fit ( :) ), but trying to figure out if there was a change from V2 to V3 or whether the GPM arms were improperly manufactured. I don’t have a basis for comparison...

Yeah GPM parts can be pretty hit or miss, that is why I am hesitant on buying the bulkheads.

Well that and the fact that they are 70% more expensive than the Hot Racing version. As good as they look, I've got 3 brand new stock bulkheads already. I want them for the bling, but until I manage to break 3 of them, I am in no real rush.

Yeah but you do get a bit more with the GPM vs the Hot Racing ones. $82.90 for the gearbox case, case cover, sway bar retainer and hardware from GPM or $54.88 for just the gearbox case and hardware, plus another $18.88 for the sway bar retainer still using the spastic case cover.

I'm not sure how much need for the case cover is but I think if anyone would make one it would probably be about $20 or so. You also get a ton of color choices.

Yup I just installed some of the V3 bulkheads on my Outcast if I break one of them I will definitely buy an aluminum one. Don't know if I want to be the Guinea pig with $170 in rc parts. Like I said before GPM makes some crap parts and I'm afraid that this might be one of them.

Front brace still has a hole in it :wtf: but atleast the more prone to break rear one is solid.

Leaning towards GPM QC issues...

From my experience, there is only one aftermarket brand that's worth a poop for the Arrma line . and that's Voltage Hobbies. They use high quality aluminum, and their customer service/communication is ON POINT. This is just my opinion, and i do own a few Hot Racing products, but after having an issue with something and more or less being told to go fiddlestick myself, they probably won't get my business ever again. If i were you , i would wait for Voltage to release some more stuff for the Arrma line.

oh, and t-bone racing. they kill it as well. I guess i can't really pass judgment on the GPM stuff, but from what i'v used. Voltage reigns all.

I'm from the uk and got my v3 today, I'm new to RC but looking at the v2 it really is minor changes, absolutely animal though on 6s, can't wait for sunlight Tomorrow to get out there again!
