Kraton Shock upgrades. I have read every post on these and the only suggestion I ever hear are the Tekno shocks that cost just as much as the truck. Are there truly no other options out there? I'm not talking springs, but the entire shock.

I think you are looking are a Real Car shock absorbers? lol

I seen it online for like under $100

springs alone are only $10 on amazon

There are lots of shocks that will fit the Kraton. Tekno just makes some really good ones. However, most ANY race grade shock will be almost $100 a pair. Heck, go check Amain.com - even the stock Kraton shocks are $85 a pair. Just the shock bodies are $25.

BUT - head over to Dollar Hobbiez - they are a chop shop (they break new kits up and sell the parts) and they sell the Tekno truggy shocks for $42 a pair.

Oh wow... Those are cheap. Which do you get for front and back?

Oh, and when I purchase these, do they just fit on the Kraton shock towers or do I need anything additional?

I have not ordered them. Might need the stand-offs, not sure. Measure your current shocks, and buy a set that comes as close as possible in length. If I had to guess at it, the ET48 is their truggy, so those shocks are probably the closest.

You need the tekno standoffs with bolts and a 4mm drill bit to drill the shock towers for the new bolts.

Look into Tekno MT410 shocks. fronts are about $24.49 and rears are about $41.49. But the Dollar Hobby looks like a real good deal on ET48 shocks. I beat the snot out of my MT410...have not busted a shock yet. However...they are mounted to very thick A-Arms and 7075 shock towers. Even besides that...I do notice that the shocks alone, especialy the shafts and the lower ball link, are made of quality material. I've stretched out the ball link under harsh conditions but never busted them. The shafts are still perfect all around.

Hey Van I'm still kind of a newb but when I looked up the mt410 it says for 1/10 scale. Dose this matter if I'm wanting to put them on the kraton? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question lol.

The MT410 is the same size as the Arrma Outcast. Its basically a short corse chassis with Truggy suspension. Most of the parts are the same as an ET48. Looks like the chassis and the bumpers are from their short coarse truck. Fits a 1:10 body. Here are 2 1:10 bodies on it. It's much lighter than an Outcast yet 10 times stronger. Wicked recipe for an RC basher. The shocks have plastic caps and collars on the MT410...aluminum is an option. Never needed to change it yet.

So the mt410s would be an option for the kraton. Good to know for future changes. Am waiting to see what the new lineup of 1/8 Arrma has to offer in line of shocks lol. Heard the new ones will have a 4mm shaft instead of the 3.5

With a longer chassis it would. It's more like an Outcast. Just depends on what you like. The diffs and shocks are great in the MT410 and their other models. very precision and very tough materials are used. If the shocks fit on Arrma's....I would put some on. The diffs more than likely will not work.

MT410, EB48, ET48, and NB48 all have the same shock parts. I have analyzed their diagrams. The chop shop links above are the "kit version" and not the "full option" version. The full option has TiNi coted shafts, Derlin internals, maybe something else. They also come in pieces vs. getting all the pieces you need in the kit. Well worth the money. If you buy whichever of the listed models is cheapest, and the required standoffs, then it will run about $100. The ET48 kit comes with the Green truggy springs, which I run on the Kraton, and will save you about $20 from buying the springs separate.
