I fully get the WD40 thing but what about a silicone spray for bearings ?? I just think a fine oil attracts dust. It seems to stick to it.
Does WD40 end up drying out the plastics if used for a cleaner ? A bit like Armor all

WD40 is a cleaner, not a final lube. WD40 will remove the oils in the bearings, and begin the quick destruction of the bearings. - - - source of information; 30 years of Skateboard and inline skate bearings. I would guess over 1000 individual bearings have been owned, cleaned and replaced by myself. You can clean them for a while, but none of them will last forever. However, if you clean with Wd-40, youneed to make sure it dries and then you need to re-oil them.

I have used release all on my Bronco for loosening parts, I have a jug leftover from my car days is this something I can use as 3n1 type oil. I believe it's a lubricant but want to make sure before using it on my outcast.

I've heard the Totally Awesome Orange works good as well as leaving your rc with a nice citrus smell.

Air compressor blows all the crap off no mater what it is then silicone spray SORTED

I wash My rc's inside and out with hot soapy water, let drip dry for a few minutes, then spray with PB Blaster 50/50, let drip dry for a few minutes, then blast with compressed air, then it goes in the Sun or buy a heater in the garage to finish drying.
This procedure leaves my RC trucks clean, dry, lubed and looking like brand new.
If you are like me and have sealed bearings, there is no need to oil them with some kind of light oil or pull the seals and add oil or grease. I simply make sure that all areas of the hub and bearing are clean, and get sprayed with PB Blaster.
Then it is time to fix the truck, because I don't work on dirty trucks, unless it is a quick fix wherever we're playing.
P.S. If it is wet outside when I am running my RC, I will spray key areas of the truck with PB Blaster before I run the truck, it really helps to keep the mud from sticking.

My Dollar General has some cheap toothbrushes that I use on mine I think they are 2 for $1.
And yeah unless I'm running in the mud or water I usually blow off my stuff with the air compressor hit it with the paint brush and tooth brush getting in those tight spots then give it a good blow again.

Not sure if every Walmart stocks them, but mine sells 5-6 pack, "Dr.Brush" I believe, toothbrush packs for 1$!!! They work awesome. I spray them with WD-40, dab on a paper towel and apply into hinges, pivotballs, driveshafts, etc... for quick cleaning, corrosion, light lubrication.

I'll have to look into that.

Blast it through the rain and puddles or use the yard hose. Then dry it off with an air hose. Finally spray it with some wd40 then let it sit over night! If its dry dirt that I just use a medium size paint brush.

WD40 is a cleaner, and will remove the oils. If it seeps into the bearings, it will cut the life of your bearings in half, if not worse.
You're right. It was designed for water displacement. I've used it to clean bearings out with. Still need oil or other lubrication afterwards.
