going to be racing my fazon and I pulled the diff brain and servo. sealed the diffs and will be running diff oil but would like to here what others are using for oil weight. thanks.

On my non-brain Nero, I only did the center so far.
I sealed it and used 500K silicon diff oil with great results. Transformed how it drives under power.
But for racing you may want to go lighter (200-300k) for better control.
500k is great for ripping around and getting ridiculous. :D

What did you do to seal up the diff so you could run oil in it?

I have sealed all 3 diffs on my nero (green version) and found it takes a pretty thick fluid on the center to be able to drive a longish wheelie. I have 1M in it now and don't feel it is too thick for bashing it around. I started with 500k to start which worked pretty well. It will still balloon the tires on straights with the 1M but not that bad.

I scuffed the top where the pins slide through on the locker and put clear 2-part epoxy (I used gorilla brand) covering all the holes. You can leave the spider gear in there while you do it, probobly a good idea to as you can spin it and make sure the epoxy doesn't get too deep into the diff, but the holes are pretty small and a thicker epoxy will fill them up.

Thanks Sportbike
Have you had any trouble with leakage?
I am a little concerned about leakage an it getting on the slipper clutch, has this been a problem for you?
I'm doing this for a friends Nero and when he told me 100k I thought to myself that it seemed a little lite? Also installing a 17 tooth pinion at same time. May try an talk him into a thicker fluid then?
I'm used to working on Kratons an Talions, Typhons , this is a beast to work on compared to them lol I like it though.

I sealed my diffs wit 2.5mm socket head screws with shoe goo for sealant. they need to be about 3-3.5mm long. no tapping needed they screw right in and no leaks. the epoxy should work but I would be afraid of it coming undone over time, the screws are not coming out unless you want them to. I run heavy grease in my center diff 10,000 in front and 7,000 in rear. works well , but I only use mine for racing, I don't bash.

No leaks on mine, there is a gasket on the other side if i remember correct.

The epoxy isnt ever gonna come off, its really strong stuff. Ive used the same product to glue rear view mirrors on car windshields for example (the little metal piece that sticks to glass)

Thanks for the info, I talked him into 500k at least.
Thanks again.

If you've found something that works for you, great but you may also want to look here for a guide on diff tuning. HTH.

Are you still with the same setup for racing Centre 10,000, front and rear 7,000? My nero is understeering alot, i race it with my friends. I am thinking of removing diff locks and do something as you did.

Thanks

Did you ever end up doing this and any review?
