Arrma RC's
Was out running this afternoon. I broke a rear shock shaft despite trying to take it easy knowing the parts situation. Now I have a super nice, highly modified, paper weight for my desk.

It's going to be so nice to have those big fat tires to hold down my papers when I open the window. I'm super stoked about my new paper weight. It's awesome.

For want of a $4 part my kraton is now completely useless, just like Arrma customer service, which just gives me the run around when I contact them. Ebay is no help. I would have bought a pair of rear shocks in a heart beat......none available. Everywhere else is a joke. No one has the parts.

I was just about to buy both an Outcast and a Talion because the truth is, I love my kraton and typhon. They are just wonderful rc vehicles. Now.......NO WAY! I wont be buying anymore arrma products until they can get the parts problem under control.

It really REALLY stinks to have such a great truck and no parts. I guess I can wait for the parts to come back in stock but that's risky. ( their is no ETA, its just an open ended abyss). My other option is to spend $100 and get some tekno shocks. I should not have to do this. However, what choice do I have?

That Tekno MT410 is calling my name and is looking cheaper and cheaper as I look at my new $1000 kraton paper weight.

Just bought the Tekno full option shock kits for front and rear. 137mm and 122mm with mounting hardware. I'm done messing around with Arrma when it comes to shocks.....done. Any shock part I break in the future will be ordered and at my door within a few days.........as it should be.

Their, now I feel better........kinda.

So happy I've just bought a new one...

Were the Tekno's hugely expensive?

I have the same shocks and have bashed them heavily. They will run you a bit over $100, but you need pistons, I bought the Derlin pistons with 4 holes. And you need the shock stand offs and the bushings. So they run about $150, so yeah for shocks they are pretty expensive. However, the parts are available on Ebay, Teckno, Amazon, etc. And the look bad A$$.

How's the parts stock with Tenko @Bigfella? I see the truck itself it out of stock on their site.

So Far I have not had an issue finding the parts, but I don't think I ordered anything directly from Teckno.

@83N, you will be fine.....just don't break a shock rod or a shock rod end. Most other things are somewhat available on eBay. It's still a great truck. Arrma is just not performing when it comes to parts. I call it like I see it.

I checked tower on MT410 parts availability. Not a single part was backordered. I'm sure things do sell out on occasion but they seem to come back in stock quickly. I did not see any backorder on any parts I checked on. Everything is in stock as far as I could see on the Tekno site, except the truck, and it's back in stock this morning. That's the type of parts support I like. We should not be in constant fear that parts will be unavailable, thats not good business imo.

The shocks, unfortunately, were expensive. I'm in a situation where I have a lot of money invested in my Kraton and really can't let it just sit indefinitely. If I had at least an ETA from Arrma I may have waited. What I can't tolerate is this parts "abyss" where its just on continual backorder with no end in sight. That's not cool.

I'm excited to get the Tekno shocks. Everything Tekno is just pure quality.

Maybe complain to Arrma. I filed BBB complaint, got stupid answer about how they have to wait for stock and they are going to make sure they have parts for existing users before releasing the orange outcast.

However, last night the shock ends showed up while my backorder at tower was still sitting there. Canceled it yesterday. Still waiting for the motor mount that I've been waiting for since January or maybe early february, it looks like that will show tomorrow from the shipping notification.

I have been watching for a rear rear hinge pin brace for 2 months now. Tower Hobbies had finally gotten it in stock and 2 days later it is sold out with an ETA of late June I think it said. They have to get this situation sorted out and quickly. Disappointing customers is not going to help them get finances sorted.

I wanted an Outcast but couldnt resist getting the Tekno MT410. I may still eventually get an Outcast but it is bumped down on my list now. The Tekno is a beast... Expensive but nice for sure.

Motor mounts are a dime a dozen on eBay ...

The MT looks like a mad truck !! Just can't get over the skinny chassis. I'd fold that puppy like a taco. Get the Outcast or you'll die wondering Ha ha !!!

I have both the mt410 and the outcast. Just have some small adjustments left for the mt410 to be finished. The chassis flex on the outcast is much more. Tekno is more expensive tho. I'll be $1200 in when finished. Put the new gen 3 tekin combo with t8 motor.

450 kit
350 esc/motor
120 radio
50 body/paint
10 pinion gear
15 servo horn
50x2 wheels/tires
60 servo
N/A batteries because I'm not sure what I'll be running yet.

The quality is real nice. I have a lot invested in my outcast as well. Arms, bearings, pinion gear, diff gears, shims, tower to tower brace, servo mount, servo, springs, shock oils, shock shafts, diff oils,etc...there is more but I'm to tired to think. I've bought a bunch of extra parts because of the parts issues.

The mt410 looks beast out of the box. I am just hoping to use my rc and not wait on parts anymore. I'll make a thread with the two compared when I finish and put a few packs in.

I'm looking forward to that comparison Hye . MT410 is my next purchase. I may get an outcast later when the parts situation gets better. My Kraton is no longer a paper weight since I installed the Tekno full option shocks. In fact, its beasting again. I really love my Kraton. It handles and jumps like a boss.

I also "truggified" my typhon. That thing is really awesome. Flies like a plane, is super tough, and is FAST.

BTW, the Mt410 will run about 50mph on 4s from what I've seen on YouTube. That's a great bashing speed and more than enough for me. I'll be running 4s in mine. It's also lighter on 4s which makes landing a bit easier on the chassis and suspension.

I'm sure the tekno is a great truck, but why not buy a losi? My original lst2 is going on 13 years and I've broken less parts that on the outcast. I've also always been able to get parts. It doesn't cost 1000 plus to complete either.
