I'm still trying to decide on oil weights. I'm definitely staying Tekno Orange in front and Yellow in back. Tried 50 front and 40 back, worked pretty well handling rough terrain, cornering....Etc. Will likely try 60 front and 40-45 rear. Was bashing all Orange 70/60 F/r set up before, just became too bouncy for my taste on rough hardpack. Aiming for more chassis slap on bigger jumps and hopefully less wear and tear on other components. That, and better handling overall.

Makes good sense and your goal is the same is mine as well. Do you think yellow front and the next softer spring in the rear would be too soft? Don't want anything too bouncy, just something that returns to desired height setting after compressing, if that makes sense lol.

That might work well for you. Depends on how you bash mostly I think and how heavy your rig is overall with battery choice and add ons. My pack is fairly light, but I love doing big and sometimes huge jumps. The Yellow up front seemed too soft for larger jumps in my book. This is really a trial and error and personal preference thing for sure. There isn't a perfect set up for all conditions and all bash spots. I'm going to keep tinkering around and hopefully find my preferred oil combo this next week. Didn't get all the bashing in I'd hoped for the past week, but going softer from rather stiff has been positive overall.

I'm also looking to upgrade my springs soon. I'm really getting the feel for this truck and in doing so, my jumps are getting higher and longer, making the truck bottom out hard on impact. In the video posted on the first page of this thread, it seemed like the rear of the truck bounced quite a bit with those oranges. (He also used part numbers TKR6083 and TKR6089 instead of TKR6038 and TKR6033.)

My terrain is usually rough (rocks, hard-pack dirt) and jumps are big at minimum, huge most of the time. I don't want the truck bouncing it's way on the approach and don't want to keep bottoming out so hard with each landing, so should I go yellow (TKR6032) rears and orange (TKR6038) fronts? Or yellow (TKR6082) rear and orange (TKR6093) fronts?

Probably going 60fr/45r for oils.

Any suggestions from those that push their trucks to the limit?

I don't throw mine high in the air, just because FL is really flat and hard to find big jumps. I went Yellow all around, and it jumps much better than stock, vast improvement, but I feel the rear is too springy and wants to kick up, so I just ordered green for the rear.

Report back on your oil combo findings @Rich Duperbash. Thanks again.
Frank I've been meaning to get back to you about oils..Etc, forgot which thread. 50-60 front with Tekno oranges, 40 rear with yellows has been way better overall, far less breakages and better handling.

I'd recommend Orange Teknos up front, yellow rear. Your oil choices sound good.

I went for green low frequency springs on the front with 60 wt oil and so far so good. Lands ok and doesn't seem to stiff. I found these thanks to Bartez, in England 16 pound posted in two days.

Got my springs installed, diffs shimmed and all oils changed this weekend. (10 hours worth of work!) Got right down to cleaning with Q-Tips and greasing moving parts. When I took the shocks apart, I found one bent shaft and two pistons that were broken in half. Got all of that fixed and took her outside for a quick beating this afternoon. For anyone looking to strengthen their pistons, Du-Bro part number 323 (No.4 Flat Washers) work. They're just a couple thousands wider than Du-Bro part number 2109, but the center hole is the same.

I had some videos taken of the bash this afternoon, so I figured I would upload something to show the new springs in action. In this vid, I'm running orange fronts with TLR 60 oil, yellow rears with TLR 50. Diffs are shimmed with 50/100/50. Still a wheelie monster, but the in-air control is smoother. Takes a bit more throttle to get the flips going. Anyway, the vid.

And yes, I know...the same ol' spot. It's all we have right now without traveling, and I've been extremely busy lately. Gonna build a few ramps in the next month or so.

And just because it's a cool still shot:

Buying my wife a Nikon D3300 soon, so the pics and vids will no longer be cell phone quality, haha.

Thanks Outcaster, I do have a few LHS's that I can consult with to see if they can get the springs.
If I order them off Tekno directly, it is $60 or more in CAD all said and done.
The only thing I am wondering is if the orange's might be too stiff as I will be changing the damping oil to 1300cst front and rear.

I was also looking to grab some Teknos, however, they are very expensive CAD.
Buck, did you or anyone else find the best prices on these, I've looked on Amazon.ca and I'm looking at $60-$70.... Yikes!

@Mad Man Slice, not sure what part of Ontario you are from but I ordered my Tekno orange springs from Hobby Hobby in Mississauga back in the spring. I believe they were $16.99/2, $38.40 total for 4 including tax. Website still shows that price. Good guys to deal with there as well.

Thanks man, I found them. I'm creating a large order right now.
