Great thread! This is helping me choose b/w the Big Rock, outcast, or kraton. I'm new to the Arrma lineup but I'm stoked. Also I can't wait to see how that roll cage turns out.

So I think my servo saver is dead. I have steering with no resistance to one side but not the other. Any recommendations on possible upgrades to the servo saver?
Also does anyone know of a company that makes hardened steel pinions with 2 set screw holes? I have a robinson and it just keeps coming off even after being on super tight and loctited. I think it is because the shaft has flat spots for 2 set screws but the robinson only has one screw so there isnt enough pressure to keep everything tight.

My Robinson pinion is doing just fine. Haven't had any problems with that at all..

On a separate note the roll cage and new body are fitted and installed! Pretty excited to see how it holds up from here on out. Also fit and installed the Tbone thrasher bumper and wheelie bar. They have saved me MUCHO $ on broken bumpers.

Your robinson pinion only has the one set screw right? I think my problem was that because of the 2nd flat spot on the opposite side of the drive shaft, the set screw on the robinson pinion couldn't apply enough pressure to stay in place.

Yes single set screw. Font the flat point on the shaft, got that liked up and a mess of blue locktite has kept it in place without issue on 6s power all times. Its easy to NOT get it in that flat groove but once it's in that, it's very stout.

If you look at my first post I hover what I did for my servo and servo saver along with the problems tied to them. Neither have broken or been damaged in anyway, very happy with both upgrades. Bellchrank will be next. Anyway, read the first post fully and it will explain where I had my problems in this area. Hope that helps

I ended up taking apart the steering stuff and figuring out how to actually tighten it (i know someone said its 2 knobs but I couldnt get them to separate) It works like a charm now =D

***Update***
The hot racing aluminum rear hubs fit inside the wheels that I installed so no longer needed to shave down hugs to fit my Huntsman RC 4 wheel drive Wheels. After 4 of the broken rear hubs (Hindsight being 20/20) I should have purchased them at the beginning.

Good to know about the Hot Racing hubs, I will for sure be keeping that in mind. Just yesterday I came across a new set of Proline X-Max wheels and tires that look kind of interesting and would resolve this issue also. They are interesting because the inner bead lock ring is larger than the outer ring. Even though they are a true bead lock it looks like Pro-Line only makes 1 tire, so far, that will actually fit on these wheels and I am guessing no one else makes a tire that would fit on them. The reason being that the inner side wall is about half as tall as the outer sidewall of the tire. Kind of cool if you are looking to make sure you have plenty of clearance between your wheel, the hub, and the suspension arms. Here is a link to the Pro-Line website for these wheels and tires if anyone is interested in checking them out. The wheels are called Impulse Pro-Loc Black Wheels and the tires that fit on them are the Badlands MX43 Pro-Loc All Terrain Tires.

The robbinson racing pinion works fine you just have to make sure you get the set screw in the groove on the motor. And make it tight. I ran it for over an hour today with no issues on the pinion.
Also while changing the pinion I Replaced every grub screw on all driveshafts with the traxxas pins. Not one broke and I ran hard with 6s the whole time. Definite improvement there. This is a mandatory change for anyone with this truck. Don't waste your time on the ARRMA brand stuff for that part.

HOWEVER. More breakage.
Roll hoop AGAIN, front skid plate, front bumper and BOTH sets of body posts (at the point that attaches to the vertical plates on the chassis. This thing is getting expensive to drive. But when it's working, it's a lot of fun

Also.. The body is still completely usable. Even breaking the body posts did not break it. The rear of the truck where the bumper recesses has ripped but that's from bad landings/takeoff dragging the rear of the truck on the ground.

I know threads old, but thats good, I like those hot racing, as long as post is upgraded, I like the adjustability on them, run on road, lower suspension right there, off road, same...how have they held up, plus I can get all 4 for price of 2 of other, most defiantly, heavier ones?

what body is that, sweet look aerodynamic as ever!!!>..also what are these hot racing aluminum wheel hubs I've read you talking about?
